Summary

QMeUp is a queue management solution developed to help facilities and patients organize queues online. It features a Patient ID System to speed up the registration process, a Cloud Storage for Medical Files to allow patients to receive and store their results online, and more. It creates Electronic Health Records (EHR — a digital version of a patient’s paper chart. EHRs are real-time, patient-centered records that make information available instantly and securely to authorized users. This program was proposed by the OPD, Head to Medical Center Chief, RizalMed in 2016, and approved in 2017. RizalMed’s EHR and QmeUp are the first in all DOH retained hospitals.

Background and Problem

The objective of this innovation is to address the problem identified and upgrade the mode safe keeping as well as the consultation of every clientele. This innovation is the proposed long-term solution to the identified problem encountered by the OPD-Central Registration. This aims to resolve the delayed retrieval, insufficient storage, and misplaced health records, and with this, it allows hastening the consultation of the patient and providing a complete and accurate health record of the patient during their medical examination.

Solution and Impact

Basically the QmeUp and EHR start with the kiosk, patients securing queuing numbers for them to be registered in the Hospital Information System (HIS), after the registration, patients will go to clinics for their consultations. During this time the attending physician will be using EHR in encoding the patient’s information to the system as their E-records, after the consultation the eHealth records will be stored to the server and will be safely kept. The impact was positive, it generates excellent customer satisfaction, as the initial results have reduced the waiting time of the patients, and as for the long-term impact the RizalMed could achieve its vision by 2022, and clients and other stakeholders will benefit in the outcome of this best practice. Congestion of patients in the waiting area was lessen
